What's possible in 24 Hours with the kinect SDK ?

I spent the morning participating in and watching the announcements around the Kinect SDK and it’s been a blast to see what developers can do in just 24 hours with the kit. As I mentioned in my earlier post, we ran a code camp for the last 24 hours and following the webcast this morning I took some time to head down to the camp and see what the teams had created.

Remember Pong? One of the earliest arcade games got an pretty serious service pack this morning – you! The human body became the controller of the paddles as two guys from Lewis and Clark built a natural user interface version of Pong that used the skeletal tracking capability. Nick Wilson and Julian Dale showed up with no experience of coding on Windows – both being Emacs developers. Within 24 hours they’d both picked up Visual Studio, learnt C# and built their version of Pong. They were so impressed they told me they were heading back to college and planned to use this with their football team and saw a ton of potential to track quarterbacks in real-time and use it for coaching purposes.







Josh Blake, of KinectHacks fame, was also at the code camp – I was personally really pleased to see him there and his enthusiasm for the official SDK was great. His team built Virtual Kinductor who enables you to conduct an orchestra using gestures and speech. As cool as it was, Josh was more excited about the potential apps that are yet to be built.

The application that seemed to catch the most attention was he flying quadrocopter - Alex Wiggins, Ruma Paul and Fabio Matsui hooked up a the flying machine and enabled it to be controller by their body. They took over the lobby of building 50 here at Microsoft for a while and drew quite a crowd – and scared a few receptionists,  i managed to shoot a quick video on my phone…
What I’m really looking forward to seeing is developers take advantage of the audio capability as I think that’s part of the palette that’s been less used – so far. I asked Nick and Julian if they’d tried adding audio to Pong and they confirmed they had – albeit at 3am and every other developer at code camp had the same idea, so it was sorta noisy
If you can built that kind of stuff in 24 hours, I’m eager to see what happens in another 24 hours, 24 days and 24 months. It’s really just the beginning of the NUI movement.

Freeup or clean RAM using Notepad

RAM – Stand For Random Access Memory is one of the main component of computer that is responsible for the process of the operating system. Since all the Operating systems support Multiprocessing, hence require a good RAM speed.
Since all the current running processes are stored onto the RAM, it slows the system speed. Sometimes the process which have executed but are not required by the OS are stored on the RAM. So, we can remove or freeup the RAM with unused junk data to Speedup the System or processing speed.

Delete Autorun.inf Virus Manually using just Winrar

Hello Friends Today i m tell u About this topic

Once it happened to a friend of mine, when his newly bought laptop was infected with this autorun.inf virus. This virus corrupted almost all the  drives on the Hard disk, and when ever he tried to double click on the drive or opening  any drive it opened in a new window. In some cases, when your drive is infected with this Autorun.inf virus, you won’t be able to access the drive completely. You have to browse the drive by Exploring it i.e; Ctrl+E keys from the keyboard.



Sometimes ever you will not be able to see hidden files even if you have Show hidden files Enabled under Folder Options. well, this are all the wonders of this Autorun.inf virus.
I am going to show you this rare method of removing Autorun.inf manually using just winrar application, not any antivirus or malware programs.
Solution to Remove Autorun.inf Virus
Step 1: First Disable CD/DVD or USB Autorun in windows
Step 2: Open Winrar.exe  (Start–>All Programs–>WinRar–>WinRar.exe)
Step 3: Now Browse to any drive that is infected with Autorun.inf virus using winrar explorer.
Step4: Here you will see all the hidden files under winrar for that particular drive.
Step 5: Look for the file Autorun.inf and open it using notepad.
Step 6: In that Autorun file, some .EXE file will be mentioned that will be executed along with the autorun file. This exe file is the main culprit.

Step 7: Note the exe file mentioned in the Autorun.inf file. Close this Autorun.inf file.
Step 8: Now look for that .Exe file in the drive (Ex: c:/), Delete that .exe file along with Autorun.inf
Step 9: Restart your Operating System. Now your system is free with Autorun.inf Virus.
Note: Repeat the same process if your Usb or Pendrives are infected with Autorun.inf virus.

Sometimes its always healthy to shutdown your pc if you are not using it. I mean, suppose you are downloading a file that will be completed at an estimated time of say 1 hour. You can avoid sitting in front of the monitor till the download is complete. just use the below freeware software to shutdown the computer automatically after a specific amount of time.

Usage of Auto Shutdown:
1. Set the time.
2. Set the action to be taken.
a.    Shutdown means that the computer will be turned off (after logging off, if needed). Force means that the running applications (if any) will be forced to close themselves). This can be dangerous, is some cases you may loose your data, unsaved documents.
b.    Remind me about means that, when the time will come, a message box will be shown with your message (e.g. “Eggs are ready!”, or “the movie has began!”).
3. If you want, minimize the program (the “Auto Shutdown” program dialog).
4. That’s it. When the time will come, auto shutdown will do the specified job.
Of course, if you close the dialog (the “Auto Shutdown” program), then nothing will happen. Auto Shutdown must be running to work.

Gmail Drive guide to use Gmail space as online storage drive hack

Gmail is really famous among users of all the email clients available on the web and that is not because it has a cool interface rather it is famous for its reliability and huge space which includes storage space of 6000 megabytes  and increasing. Google doesn’t stop here and recently Google announced that users can now buy more online storage for Google services just by paying a little amount. So why not use this online storage space and use it externally probably as a network drive or one of your own computer hard drives.

Use Google Storage Space as Google Drive
I am going to show different methods by which your can use your Gmail account space as your external hard drive that too free. You will be able to download (or should I say copy) attachments from your Gmail account to your computer just as you would do from a drive on your computer. You can also use this space to upload content direct from your computer and save it online in your Gmail account.
1. GMAIL DRIVE

GMail Drive is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual filesystem around your Google Mail account, allowing you to use Gmail as a storage medium.
GMail Drive creates a virtual filesystem on top of your Google Gmail account and enables you to save and retrieve files stored on your Gmail account directly from inside Windows Explorer. GMail Drive literally adds a new drive to your computer under the My Computer folder, where you can create new folders, copy and drag’n'drop files to.
With GMail Drive you can easily copy files to your Google Mail Account and retrieve them again.
When you create a new file using GMail Drive, it generates an e-mail and posts it to your account. The e-mail appears in your normal Inbox folder, and the file is attached as an e-mail attachment. GMail Drive periodically checks your mail account (using the Gmail search function) to see if new files have arrived and to rebuild the directory structures. But basically GMail Drive acts as any other hard-drive installed on your computer.
You can copy files to and from the GMail Drive folder simply by using drag’n'drop like you’re used to with the normal Explorer folders.
Because the Gmail files will clutter up your Inbox folder, you may wish to create a filter in Gmail to automatically move the files (prefixed with the GMAILFS letters in the subject) to your archived mail folder.
Please note that GMail Drive is still an experimental tool. There’s still a number of limitations of the file-system (such as total filename size must be less than 65 characters). Since the tool hooks up with the free Gmail Service provided by Google, changes in the Gmail system may break the tool’s ability to function. I cannot guarantee that files stored in this manner will be accessible in the future.

Php Gmail Drive is a new type of file sharing utility. Unlike typical file servers (say xDrive) it uses Gmail as backend file server. You can enjoy it simply by hosting a small PHP script in your web site without any database. Gmail file space is more than 2GB, so you can imagine you already have such a big space on internet. However, you will require a Gmail account (If you don’t have any Gmail address, go GmailSwap or ask your friends.). PGD automatically connects Gmail server and fetches list of all attached files and generate downloadable links in a tree like view. Thought there is  no need to know hecks of PHP or Gmailer.  Just you have to check that your PHP hosting service provider has curl extension of PHP to handle HTTP/HTTPS traffic.

Delete An "undeletable" File

Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open.

Close all open programs.
...
Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE

Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe.

Leave Task Manager open.

Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in.

At the command prompt type DEL where is the file you wish to delete.

Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell.

Close Task Manager.
